Forgotten (FYPJ 2)

Game Synopsis

Stuck in a haunted and abandoned town, the player has to leave the town to get back home. With floating demons out to hunt down for the player, the player has to be smart and run away from the demons.

 

Team Collaboration

Being their leader, I had to work with both artist and programmer to get their assets out in time to proceed on to the next task. Despite the members being busy with their own assignment during the period of this project, we came to an agreement to reduce some complicated mechanics and instead simplify the game to be a maze.

My Contributions

  • Level 1's jumpscares and scary events

  • Organised the team as a leader

  • Provided audio for the game
     

Problems Faced 

  • Not enough horror elements due to confusing story line and long winded puzzles

  • A short camera to indicate a kid caused problems with collision and codes

  • Busy members with their assignments

Solution

  • Cut story line and instead focus on jumpscares and scary moments the player can face​​

  • That idea was scraped and instead a normal human height camera was to replace that short camera height

  • Reduced game mechanics and cut story line to meet due dates
